Fotogrāfiju albums „Kerkoviusa nama atdzimšana”
Fotogrāfiju albumā „Kerkoviusa nama atdzimšana” sniegts ieskats LU Bibliotēkas ēkas (Kerkoviusa nama) renovācijā, kas norisinājās laikā no 2012. gada aprīļa līdz 2013. gada janvārim.
Kalpaka bulvārī 4 esošā ēka projektēta 1874. gadā, un tās celtniecība pabeigta 1878. gadā. Latviešu arhitekts Jānis Fridrihs Baumanis to toreiz veidojis kā savrupnamu Ludvigam Vilhelmam Kerkoviusam un viņa ģimenei. L. V. Kerkoviuss savulaik aktīvi iesaistījies Rīgas politiskajā dzīvē, bijis rātskungs, pilsētas galvas biedrs un laikā no 1890. līdz 1901. gadam veicis arī Rīgas pilsētas galvas amata pienākumus. 20. gadsimta 40. gados šis nams nonāca Latvijas Universitātes pārziņā un kļuva par LU Bibliotēkas mājvietu.
Fotoattēlos uzskatāmi atspoguļotas ēkas vizuālās pārmaiņas renovācijas gaitā – redzama rekonstruētā nama fasāde, iekštelpas un tajās esošie atjaunotie dekoratīvie interjera elementi (piemēram, greznās pildiņu divviru durvis ar kokgriezumu aplikāciju un polihromais sienu un griestu krāsojums saimnieka kamīna istabā), kā arī jaunuzceltā piebūve, kur turpmāk atradīsies Latvijas Universitātes Humanitāro un sociālo zinātņu pētījumu centrs.
Picture album „Revival of the Kerkovius’s House”
This picture album gives a brief insight into the renovation of the building of the Library of the University of Latvia (Kerkovius’s House), that was carried out from 13 April, 2012 to 15 January, 2013.
The project of the building in Riga, 4 Kalpaka Blvd., is dated 1874, but it’s construction was completed in 1878. Famous Latvian architect Jānis Fridrihs Baumanis designed it as a mansion for Ludwig Wilhelm Kerkovius and his family. L.W. Kerkovius actively engaged in political life, was the city councilor, mayor assistant and also carried out the duties as the first mayor of Riga (1890-1901). The building came into possession of the University of Latvia in the 1940s and was turned into a home for the Library of the University of Latvia.
The pictures clearly reflect the visual changes of the house during the renovation – we see the reconstructed facade, interiors and the renovated decorative interior elements (e.g. double panel doors with carved baroque style applications, as well as the polychrome coloration on walls and ceiling in the master’s fireplace room), likewise it depicts the newly constructed building extension that hereafter will house the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Centre and the Library of the University of Latvia.
Fotoalbum „Wiederaufleben des Hauses Kerkovius“
Fotoalbum „Wiederaufleben des Hauses Kerkovius“ zeigt einen Einblick in die Renovierung des Gebäudes der Bibliothek Universität Lettlands (Haus Kerkovius), die von April 2012 bis Januar 2013 statt fand.
Das Haus am Kalpakboulevard 4(Kalpaka bulvāris 4) wurde im Jahr 1874 entworfen, und die Bauarbeiten wurden im Jahr 1878 beendet. Der lettische Architekt Jānis Fridrihs Baumanis entwarf das Gebäude als Privathaus für Ludwig Wilhelm Kerkovius und seine Familie. L. W. Kerkovius war in seiner Zeit aktiv am politischen Leben der Stadt Riga beteiligt – er war Ratsherr, Stadthauptollege und erfühlte von 1890 bis 1901 seine Pflichte als Stadthaupt der Stadt Riga. In den vierziger Jahren des 20. Jh. übernahm Universität Lettlands die Verantwortung für das Gebäude, und es wurde zum Haus für die Bibliothek Universität Lettlands.
Auf den Fotos werden die optischen Veränderungen des Gebäudes während der Renovierung gezeigt – man kann die rekonstruierte Fassade des Hauses, Innenräume und deren restaurierte dekorative Elemente (zum Beispiel schöne zweiflügelige Füllungszimmertür mit Holzschnitzerei-Applikation; polychrom gestrichene Wände und Zimmerdecke im Kaminzimmer des Hausherrs) sehen, sowie auch den neu gebauten Anbau, wo sich von nun an Forschungszentrum der Universität Lettlands für Humanitäre und Soziale Wissenschaften befinden wird.
