The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia (MEPRD) in cooperation with the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC) is organizing a conference for scientists on climate change and possibilities provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)[1]. Conference will be held on 1 June 2018 in Riga, Latvia.

The primary objective of the conference is to raise awareness about climate change, promote knowledge sharing and present key findings of internationally recognised climate change studies. Scientific data and researches are essential to understand climate changes and tendencies, while impact assessments provide crucial information also for climate action policies. The conference will focus on promoting cooperation among Baltic States’ scientists and the IPCC, and developing climate change related researches in the Baltic States.
The conference will be attended by some of the most respected scientists within of the IPCC experts’ community. A preliminary draft agenda and tentative list of participants from the IPCC can be found in the attachment. The language of the conference will be English, and no translation to other languages will be provided. There is no registration fee.
